Casita Facts:

- Wireless Internet service is provided free of charge.
- Casitas del Mar is an “Adults Only” facility. The Casitas are located right beside one another. There is no room for children to run and play and children, just being children, could possibly disrupt the quiet vacation time of other guests. If you rent all 4 Casitas children would be allowed.

Location:
- Please check the map at the bottom of the page. Isla Mujeres is about 5 miles long; Casitas del Mar is located approximately half way down the island and facing east to the open Caribbean. The Casitas are set back about 50 ft. from the road which is the only thing between them and the open Caribbean.
- The shore in front of the Casitas is rocky and, while excellent for collecting shells and sea glass, it is not conducive to swimming most of the year due to a strong wave action. Enclosed water shoes are strongly recommended.
- Walking anywhere is an option, however, taxis are readily available on the street and very inexpensive (less than $4 U.S. from the Casitas to downtown). You can also take a bus.
- The closest swimmable beach, approximately ¼ mile from the Casitas, is at Capitán Dulché, which has a large swimming pool and a full-service restaurant as well as a lovely beach. The most popular beach on Isla Mujeres, located at the north end of Isla approximately 3 miles away, is Playa Norte (North Beach)
Laundry Facilities:
- There are no washers or dryers in the casitas but there is a full-service Laundromat 2 blocks away.
Safety – Security:
- Each Casita has a small, re-programmable safe.
- The windows are fitted with security bars so you can leave them open to listen to the waves and feel the breeze in safety.
- Isla Mujeres is a very safe, friendly island however please use common sense.
General:
- The water from the tap is potable and safe to use for showering, brushing teeth and washing dishes. Microdyne is provided to treat the water to disinfect fruits and vegetables.
- We recommend many good restaurants; be assured that they will use only purified water for their ice and drinks. Raw vegetables will have been washed in a solution of microdyne.
- Isla Mujeres is a casual island. Bring shorts, tee shirts, bathing suits, cover-ups, sandals, a good waterproof sun block and a hat and sunglasses. From November to March it is a good idea to bring at least one set of warmer clothing and a light jacket for cool evenings.
- Because it is an island, Isla Mujeres almost always has a breeze. The prevailing winds are from the east so if a breeze is to be had you will feel it at Casitas del Mar.
Cancun Airport to Isla Mujeres:
- You can take a bus, van or taxi from the airport to Gran Puerto or Puerto Juarez (prices vary but detailed information will be provided with your confirmation). The crossing takes 20 minutes and a round-trip ticket costs 450 pesos (approximately $22.00 U.S.).
- Once on Isla Mujeres take a taxi to Casitas del Mar.
- Detailed information on how to get to Casitas del Mar from the airport will be sent with your confirmation.
